Agba is the Managing Partner and heads the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group. He is an active member of the local branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (“NBA”), the NBA Section on Business Law, the NBA Section on Legal Practice and the International Bar Association with particular interest in the Litigation Committee.
He regularly advises local and international clients in high profile commercial disputes and represents them before superior Courts of record and Tribunals across the country. Agba is currently providing legal representation to a multi-national insurance company in several multi-million Naira Claims including a Goods-In-Transit Insurance Claim and Professional Indemnity Claim, he is also representing a major film production and distribution company in a multi-billion Naira copyright infringement claim. Agba is also representing a West African professional body in a high profile debt recovery action.
Agba has extensive exposure in real estate. He regularly advises on commercial and residential real estate transactions, leasehold acquisitions and disposals. He acts for project developers and investors and has advised a large multi-national retail chain on real estate acquisitions in Nigeria. He is currently providing legal representation to key players in the real estate industry in several claims including a claim for recovery of possession of a high profile property, the subject of a commercial lease.
He also provides sterling advisory services to clients on legal issues relating to insolvency, receivership and bankruptcy. He has successfully represented companies in debt recovery and receivership proceedings involving the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria in various superior Courts of record across the country. Agba is representing a company in a multi-million Naira claim against a commercial Bank and the NDIC for breach of contract and unlawful conversion of funds.
Agba has attended several trainings and conferences within and outside Nigeria and speaks regularly at various fora including seminars/trainings organised by the London School of Business and Finance. He is also passionate about the growth of the legal profession in Nigeria and regularly participates at Moot and Mock competitions organised by various law faculties in Nigeria.
Prior to Aarndale, he practiced in three leading law firms in Nigeria, where he garnered vast experience in diverse areas of law.
